Adding Text String on the PCB
zuyang , 05-26-2020, 08:57 AM
Hello everyone,
To add some text on the PCB and make it look gold and shiny, we can have strings on 2 layers: one on Top layer and the other on Top Solder layer, with the one on Top Solder being a little bit thicker.
However, when I tried this with Altium Designer 20.1.8, the location of the texts change too when I change its width, so the aligned texts are not aligned anymore, as is shown in the screenshot below.

This can also be observed when checking the generated gerber files using ViewMate:

I would really appreciate it if you can help me solve this problem.
Thanks

select both text..(on both layers) then use alginment shortcutkeys e.g. A-L then A-T (align left then align top) that should get them back on toip of each other
otherwise copy the coordinates x/y

I would like to add to @Paul van Avesaath's answer.
AD20 has text justification. What you can try to do, set both texts to be aligned to the center&middle and then just use same coordinates. That could help, let me know
