Query about red cover

Satyaveer Singh Rawat , 05-03-2024, 01:39 PM
Hi All, Please refer to screenshot attached. I have updated components footprint from schematic and what extra I am getting on PCB Board is a red cover with name of my schematic i.e. "My_Project_Schematic". I have not seen any of sach covers in my previous 2 boards till now designed by me. What different I have done here is, tried 3-D body of components but same I have done in Ardinuo board design by exactly following @Robert Feranec course on udemy and didin't get any of sach cover there.
1. What are the possible reasons?
2. Does it harm me in any sense?
3. If yes , how to remove it? Please help.

This is room. I think everything you need to know is written on Altium homepage: https://www.altium.com/documentation/altium-designer/working-with-rooms

I never used rooms personally. I always disable them. You can disable them by going Project->Project options->ECO Generation->Add Rooms->Ignore Differences

After that you can delete it and it won't come back if you update your PCB. But you can simply delete it anyway.

I would use a different method to prevent the room generation.
In the project / Project Options, class generation, deselect the generate room for the sheets that do not need a room.
This allows you control on which sheet should or should not have a room.
