Path to hardware development

Hello.
I am a 3rd year undergraduate student in the field of electronics and communication engineering. I am interested in becoming an hardware engineer. I have experience in developing hardware projects and I have basic experience in PCB design using eagle software, though my knowledge is limited. I am quite confused about the industry skill and knowledge requirements for an entry level hardware engineering job right now. I would find it extremely helpful if you could provide some tips and guidance on how I can equip myself for the industry and what skills I must learn, since you are very experienced in this field.
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi, I just answered your question also on youtube: Work on as many projects as you can (+ possibly come up with your own projects) and learn to use different CAD systems (including software used in many board designing companies e.g. Altium, Cadence, etc).
I hope this helps.
