8:1 HDMI Multiplexer using TS3DV642A0RUAR (2:1 switch)

Anik , 06-14-2025, 04:31 PM
Hi,
I was creating a multiplexer that would multiplex 8 HDMI sources to 1 HDMI output. The switch will be controlled by 8 GPIO as I have made the logic. But I am concerned about signal degradation. Cause the signal will pass through 3 TS3DV642A0RUAR switch. I have used 7 TS3DV642A0RUAR switch. Schematic attached. Please give me a solution. I have not found any larger multiplexer IC from my desired supplier (LCSC)

What if you add a HDMI redriver at the end, like https://www.ti.com/product/TMDS1204 ?

I thought also. I have kept the ic also on the schematic. But I am thinking will it be able to match the signal timing.
Each switch has 5 ohm resistance so every path resistance willbe 15 ohm after passes 3 switch.

I can imagine that if you keep the switches and redriver close together, that it will not be such a problem.
Alternatively, you need to look how the redriver does the termination and opt to do it on the board instead.
