Seeking Advice on Pull-up Resistor Values for LTC4417 VALID Pins
KA , 12-27-2024, 01:32 AM
Hello everyone! I'm currently working with the LTC4417 to manage power switching between batteries and USB in my circuit. I've noticed that the datasheet's application circuit recommends using 1M ohm pull-up resistors on the VALID pins, which seems unusually high. Does anyone have insights on why this specific value is recommended? If you've used this component, what pull-up resistor values did you choose? Any guidance or experiences shared would be greatly appreciated!

my guess would be they suggest high values as it may have something with minimizing power consumption from battery (?)

Just be sure what you connect in front have high enough impedance that it won't prevent them to go high if needed. (if you use the feature at all. If not, datasheet suggests leaving them floating.)
